Browse Categories, Types & Topics
Freebase is seeded with over 2 million topics organized into categories and types . A type defines the properties for a topic. For instance, there are types for 'film' and 'actor' for topics like 'There's Something About Mary' and 'Matt Dillon'. Categories are simply collections of types.

Search & Filter
It's here somewhere, but how do you find it? Browsing categories and searching topics will get you in the ballpark, then use our filtering tool to narrow your results down to find exactly what you're looking for. 'Structured data' is the special sauce in Freebase that makes this magic possible.

Contribute
Find some information that's missing or just plain wrong? No problem, use our inline editing tools to fix an existing entry or add a new one. Its easy and won't hurt a bit.

Type Editor
Can't find the type you are looking for? Developers can use our type editor GUI to create a totally new classifications of data. Freebase lets users edit structure as well as content. Don't let all this power go to your head.

Free Data & API
We've got data. Lots and lots of data. And we'll hook you up for free. Integrate it into your own application or website using our API. Whatever we've got is free for you to use because it's licensed under Creative Commons Attribution. All we ask is that you link back to us.
