        It needs to inherit a collection name for a start, so accession numbers are disambiguated.

        Collections seem to be a fairly fluid thing - they can be renamed, split, merged and so on. I'm not sure what you mean by 'inherit a collection name'.

        A field we could perhaps add is Owner - which would link through to the legal entity or person that owns the item.
