The Nikon D300 is a 12.3-megapixel professional DX format digital single-lens-reflex (dSLR) camera that Nikon Corporation announced on 23 August 2007 along with the Nikon D3 FX format camera. It is designated by Nikon as the ultimate in DX format performance . It is very similar to the new D3, with the main difference being that the D300 uses a DX sensor instead of an FX sensor.
