Hammy is a fictional hyperactive squirrel who appears in the Over the Hedge comic strip and film. Besides RJ and Verne, Hammy is the only character to appear in both the comic strip and the film. "Hammy" was his original name, until the name "Sammy" came up after Hammy was killed off by the creators. However, he retains the name "Hammy" in DreamWorks SKG's feature film and his name was restored as "Hammy" in the comic strip around the time of promotion of the movie.
