Evelyn is an aspiring Egyptologist of Egyptian (maternal) and British (paternal) descent working as a librarian in Cairo. She and her brother Jonathan contact Rick O'Connell when they find out that he knows that location of Hamunaptra; however, Rick is in prison and set to be hanged.
