Nina Conti (born 1974, in London) is a British actress, comedian and ventriloquist. Her onstage sidekick is a depressed simian monkey-puppet known simply as Monk. She was born and grew up in Hampstead, London, the daughter of actors Tom Conti and Kara Wilson. Conti went to King Alfred's School, Golders Green, and the University of East Anglia, Norwich, where she graduated with a first class honours degree in philosophy.
